Dr. Daniel Murphy specializes in orthopaedic surgery and  sports medicine

Medical Mission Work

Dr. Murphy continues to be involved in medical and surgical mission trips to understand people in third world countries since 1989. Initially working with Operation Smile and more recently Operation Walk, he has made more than a dozen trips and had the priveledge to care for and operate on hundreds of people.

Recent work with Operation walk has allowed Dr. Murphy to work with Orthopedic Faculty from UNC Chapel Hill, including long time friend Dr. Lawrence Dahners, He and Dr Murphy went on their first mission trip to Panama in 1989. Operation Walk has also provided the opportunity for Dr. Murphy to continue teaching Orthopedic Residents in and out of the Operating Room.
